A Guide to Summer Weddings: Ladies, what should you wear?

Wedding season has officially begun! This means traditional church nuptials and preppy country club receptions, trendy downtown ceremonies and ritzy black-tie soirées. To kick this thing off, I've decided to start a brief new series called A Guide to Summer Weddings in which I'll feature a few ideas and tips to help brides and guests alike get through the summer. First up: guest attire for women. Enjoy!

1. A jewel-toned, satin-jersey gown is glamorous, yet still comfortable, for a black-tie wedding. Plus, it leaves room to add sparkly accessories, $480.

2. A cocktail dress with one standout feature, like an elegant cape overlay, is perfect for an evening cocktail attire wedding, $187.50 (also available here).

3. A dress in an oversized floral print and silky fabric is perfect for an outdoor wedding and will transition into evening seamlessly, £23.

4. A knee-length, stretch jersey dress in a summery hue is perfect for a daytime country club reception, $140. As the sun sets, just swap out your jewelry and add a metallic clutch!

5. A maxi dress is definitely a must for beach weddings. Why? Its long hem will keep your knickers safely hidden should a strong ocean breeze blow by! Pick one with a lovely embellished neckline or standout print and it will carry you from the mid-afternoon nuptials all the way through to the evening festivities, £139!

P.S. Have any post ideas for this series? Shoot me an email or hit me up on Twitter!
