Can you roller-skate?

image via pinterest

I remember learning how to roller skate when I was little. We used to have a long driveway that was pretty steep, and it led to a nice, open parking patio that was surrounded by grass. My sister and I would start halfway up the driveway (we were scared we would fall if we started any higher!), and we'd skate down the driveway (going really fast), and fall, laughing, into the grass.

Do you know how to roller skate? Do you have any childhood memories of rollerskating?

Also: Disco era hot shorts to skate in!

Vinegar + Essential Oil Hair Rinse (for soft, shiny hair!)

I've recently started rinsing my hair with a white vinegar + water mixture after shampooing, and I absolutely love it! The mixture helps restore the pH of my scalp and hair, leaving me with shiny coils and kinks. Last week, I decided to add one of my favorite essential oils to the mix.

I elected to use lavender, which is great for soothing the scalp and promoting hair growth (it also knocks back that vinegar-y smell!). Some other great essential oils are rosemary (promotes hair growth, darkens grey hair), chamomile (scalp soothing; great for blondes), tea tree (fights dandruff), and sage (clarifying; great if you have psoriasis).

Here's what you'll need:

Vinegar + Essential Oil Hair Rinse
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
10 drops of an essential oil of your choice
An 8-oz. container

Add the 10 drops of essential oil and a little bit of water to your bottle. Mix together. Pour the rest of the water and the vinegar into the bottle. Shake to combine. (Heads up: After shaking, the mixture should settle out and be clear).

To use, shake up the bottle and pour some of the mixture over your scalp after rinsing out your shampoo and/or conditioner. Massage the mixture into your scalp. Let the solution run down your hair, adding a little bit more to your ends. Do not rinse, but feel free to squeeze out the excess liquid.

Depending on the length and density of your hair, this should last you at least 5 uses (for the sake of comparison, I have dense, bra-strap/mid-back length hair, and I can get about 5 uses out of one 8 oz. bottle).
