'Baggying' is a little trick that is great for dealing with dry hair and retaining length, especially for those of us with curly or kinky hair. This method helps the hair retain moisture by trapping water that would normally evaporate under a plastic cap, and allowing it to penetrate the hair shaft. The addition of a moisturizer or oil helps to further nourish the hair. All you have to do is...
...lightly dampen your hair and apply your favorite moisturizer or oil. Then, using a plastic bag or plastic shower cap, cover your hair (note: if you only want to focus on the ends of your hair, pull your hair into a ponytail and cover it with a plastic bag). You can then put on a scarf/bonnet and sleep with it on overnight, leave it on for a couple of hours while you do chores around the house or don a hat or headscarf and run some errands. Once you're done, just remove your plastic cap and you'll have soft, supple, moisturized strands!
